Alice had two more children although their father's identity is unconfirmed, Robert Richardson Riggs and Nancy Lillian Riggs. Attestation papers were signed 20 Nov 1914 in St. John, New Brunswick. Walter George Riggs was born 11 Jul 1895 in Renwick, Cumberland, England. His Next of Kin was given as his mother, Mrs. Abe Richard of Elmdon Heath, Solihull, Birmingham, England. He noted that he was a labourer by occupation. He had previous Military experience with the 67th Sussex New Brunswick. 5'9" in height with blue eyes and light hair. His religion was listed as Church of England.

On Feb 24 1917, Acting Corporal Walter George Riggs whilst on duty in the trenches in Vimy Ridge. As per Circumstances of Casualty 'he had his foot blown off by the explosion of an enemy fishtail bomb. Comrades rendered first aid and he was taken to a dressing station and evacuated to No 42 Casualty Clearing Station where he died.'
Commonwealth War Graves Registers states his Next of Kin as Mrs. Alice Richard of Elmond Heath, Solihull, Birmingham, England. He was buried in Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension, Aubigny-en-Artois, Nord Pas de Calais, France. Plot: I. G. 29.
