NotesJo and his brother Frank came to Canada in October 1910. They were at the St George's Home in Ottawa. Frank and Jo both joined the millitary and Jo served in WWI at Ypres and Vimy Ridge. They both married and had families. I don't know the actual reasons for their coming to Canada other than to perhaps gain a new life. Their mother lived until 1942 and did not want them to come but as guardians of Buckley Hall Orphanage, they could be sent. Frank went to England a few times and I believe their mother may have come over once to Canada.
