Attestation papers wers signed 12 Oct 1915 in Ridgetown, Ontario. George Valentine Peterson was born 14 Feb 1895 in Wisbech, Cambridge, England. His Next of Kin was rewritten, making the page difficult to read, his sister Miss. M. Greystone of Elderly Road, and then Miss. May Peterson c/o Mrs. Anderson: Greystone Cottage, Alderly Road, Haylake, Cheshire, England is clear. He had previous Military experience with the House Guard of the 24th Kent Regiment. 5'3" in height with brown eyes and black hair. His religion was listed as Church of England.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers and Circumstances of Casualty state that he was Killed in Action in the trenches north east of Courcelette, Somme, Picardie, France.
