"Sixteenth Annual Report of the Local Government Board, 1886-87; Copy of Reports of Inspection of Children sent out to Canada, as of February 12, 1887.

Report of Mr. W. E. Ibbotson, Government Immigration Agent at Sherbrooke, P.Q.

Margaret Rowan, aged 11. From Wolverhampton Union. Placed with N.V.Fitzgerald, Lennoxville.?I am glad to report that this child's master and mistress give a most pleasing account of this good girl, now about 15 years of age. She is spoken of as a truly honest and good working girl. I had a long interview with this Margaret Rowan, she reported to me personally that she was well and in good health. She appeared to me to be a robust and well-built child, full of vigour and activity; she is well pleased with her present situation. She arrived here two years ago, and has worked continuously with the same people, never leaving the farm excepting to go to church. She attends the Roman Catholic Church presided over by the Rev. L. L. Desauliniers, who reports her a worthy, good girl. This statement is corroborated by both Mr. and Mrs. Fitzgerald, her master and mistress."
