NotesA birth registration was found for Elizabeth M. Price: Year of Registration: 1912; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; Mother's Maiden Name: Price; District: Wolverhampton; County: Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands; Volume: 6b; Page: 1226. Mother: Emma Price (Mary Emma (Price) Lockley died at Summerfield Hospital in 1966). Elizabeth Price was born at 376 Wolverhampton Road, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.

In 1920, Elizabeth Price, 7, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 94 Middlemore children en route to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Elizabeth was placed with George and Bessie MacPherson. He worked on the railway and lived across from Morien Station.

Emma Price, Elizabeth's mother, tried for a number of years to contact her daughter in Canada, but letters were sent back to her in England. Finally mother and daughter connected in the 'forties. On August 19, 1947, the Middlemore Superintendent wrote to Emma in England. The letter states in part "matron has told me of your visit here [Middlemore orphanage in Birmingham] and of your wish to go out to Canada to join your daughter." [Emma never did as she couldn't afford the journey]. The Middlemore Superintendent went on to say that "I am sure that at sixty-eight years of age, you would find it very difficult to settle down in Canada" and "my advice to you is to stay where you are".

Elizabeth Price married Edward MacVicar and raised seven children. She worked all her life, and though, according to her granddaughter, Brenda Franklin, "she wasn't as open and joyful as other grandmothers. God Bless her, she worked hard her whole life, and raised seven children, and you know, I don't remember a complaint. Grumpy, yes, but loved us without conditions."
