In 1911, Fred Picot, 16, is shown as a servant for Josiah Townsend and family in Esquesing, Halton, Ontario. His date of birth was shown as December 1894 and his immigration year as 1904.

He told his granddaughter very little about his life as it appeared to be very painful for him. He did say he went to work on a farm where they worked all day every day and he had to sleep in the barn. Every year at Christmas is received a lump of coal in his stocking.

He declared that he resided at R.R. #2, Cheltenham, Ontario, Canada; that his date of birth was January 23, 1896; that he was born on Jersey Island, England; that he was not married; that he was a farmer; that he was not married; that his next of kin was his mother, Mary Ann Picot, who resided 48 Balfern Street, Battersea Park Road, Battersea, England. He was a member of the Presbyterian faith. He was described as 5 foot 3 inches in height; fair complexion; blue eyes; black hair. He had distinguishing marks of a scar below his left knee; scar on his left shin; scar on his right buttock; and a birthmark on the outer side of his right thigh.

Fred Picot married Grace Holder in Ontario, Canada. They had seven children: Dorothy Picot b. About 1920 in Collingwood, Ontario; Ryerson Holder Picot; Lucille PICOT; Frederick Morrison PICOT; Hilda PICOT b. About 1926 in Collingwood, Ontario; Ruth PICOT; and Grace Lorraine PICOT.
