NotesIn 1910, John H. Allison, 13, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 77 children from the National Childrens Home en route to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

On September 17, 1917, John Allison, 19, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he resided c/o Joe Hewer, No. 37, Springfield, Ontario; that he was born in Kent, England; that his next of kin was his friend, Joe Hewer, who resided at No. 73, Springfield, Ontario; that his date of birth was March 5, 1898; that he was a farmer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 5 inches in height; dark complexion; hazel eyes; and brown hair. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

John Henry and Verna Ina Ruth Whitlock had at least six children, including Marion Ruth Allison (1924-1999); and Margaret Rosamond Allison (1925-1944).

On November 9, 1921, at Springfield, Huron, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between John Allison, farmer, born in Sidcup, England, to unknown parents; and Verna I R Whitlock, 24, pipe organist, born in Hensall, Ontario, Canada, to Peter Whitlock and Martha Williams.

On February 27, 1933, Verna Ina Ruth Whitlock Allison died of pneumonia and phthisis. The informant was her husband, John Allison, who resided in Springfield, Ontario, Canada. She was buried in Exeter, Ontario, Canada.

John Henry Allison remarried Meta Leves in Arizona, USA.

John Henry Allison died on May 14, 1995, in St. Thomas, Elgin, Ontario, Canada. He was buried at Aylmer, Elgin, Ontario, Canada.
