NotesA birth registration was found for Elizabeth Lander: Year of Registration: 1889; Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun; District: Lambeth; County: Greater London, London, Surrey; Volume: 1d; Page: 343. Parents: Henry James Lander and Eliza Walter, married 1883, St. Saviour, London, England.

Elizabeth Lander was admitted, along with her sister, Rebecca Lander, to the Lambeth Workhouse on March 14, 1898 and discharged the same day to Norwood School. Her brothers, Richard and George Lander, had been admitted to the Schools in March of 1897.

Their father, Henry James Lander died in Lambeth Infirmary on February 2, 1897. Their mother, Eliza Lander, died Janaury 16, 1898. Their aunt, Clara Walters, was residing at 24 Goldens Place, Kennington Lane, Lambeth, London, England.

On May 27, 1902, Elizabeth was sent to London Hospital, Whitechapel. From there she was sent to the Royal Sea Bathing Hospital in Margaret. She was returned to the Lambeth Infirmary on March 9, 1903.

Rebecca was sent to East Bluff House, Margate on March 25, 1903 and readmitted to the Infirmary on April 12, 1905. She was readmitted to the Schools on April 18, 1905.

Elizabeth was discharged to Barnardo's Home on August 1, 1900.

In 1900, Eliz R Lander, 10, arrived at Quebec, Candaa, in a group of 83 Barnardo girls en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

In 1900, according to Children who had been inmates of Workhouses arriving in Canada between Dec.
1899 and Oct. 31, 1900 and placed in situations by the Agent (not named) for
Dr.Barnardo's Homes 214 Farley Avenue, Toronto, Ont. (Film C-7380, RG 76, Vol 231, File 128477), Elizabeth Lander, born 1890, was placed with W. McMillan, Manager of factory, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
