NotesIn 1911, Harold Clinkard, 17, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 20 young persons shown as farmers and domestics and en route to various destinations.

After the death of his father, Harold was raised by his grandparents, although his siblings were raised by his mother and stepfather. In 1911, at the age of 17, he became a British Home Child, travelling to Canada on the Corsican to stay with his Uncle Thomas Clinkard and Aunt Bertha in Toronto. In August 1915 he joined up with the Canadian Overseas Forces. He died on June 7, 1916, at Poperinge, Belgium, at the battle of Mount Sorrel.
