In 1897, William Adam, 13 (along with brother Allan Adam, 12) arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 117 Quarrier children en route to Brockville, Ontario, Canada.

Allan and William Adam, laborers, returned to the United Kingdom on the ship Yorkshire on May 18, 1898.
