NotesIn 1889, Florence Atkins, 11, arrived in Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 106 children to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

On December 4, 1895, at the residence of John Hunter, Esq., in Charing Cross, Kent, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was solemnized between Florence Atkins, 18, born in England, "an orphan who has no knowledge of parents"; and Henry Day, 20, farmer, born in England, son of John and Ann Day.

In 1900, Florence Day, 25, was residing with her husband, Henry Day, 25, laborer; and daughter, Florence A. Day, 3, at 503 15th Avenue, Clinton, Clinton, Iowa, USA. She stated she was born in England; her date of birth was March 1875; and her immigration year was 1885.

In Barnardos UPS & DOWNS, VIII July - Aug 1902, in CHIT-CHAT Page 52 -58 (Marriages): "Florence Atkins, and old Heartsease girl who came to Canada in 1889, married in December 1895, a young man named Day. Mr and Mrs Day now reside in Michigan."

In 1910, Florence Day, 33, was residing at 519 15th Avenue, Clinton, Clinton, Iowa, USA, with her husband, Henry Day, 33, contractor; daughter, Florence A. Day, 13; and son George Day, 3.

In 1920, Florence Day, 44, was residing with her husband, Henry Day, 44, foreman in sugar factory; and son, George Day, 12, at 336 17th Avenue, Clinton, Iowa. She stated she immigrated from England in 1897 and became naturalized in 1900.
