In 1915, Eva May [sic] Atkins, 8, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 52 Barnardo girls en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

On June 29, 1925, Ena Mary Atkins, 18, domestic, entered the United States through the port of Buffalo, New York. She declared that she was born in London, England; that she resided at Barnardos Home, Guelph, Ontario, Canada; that her contact in Canada was her aunt, Mrs. F. A. Thierry, at the Womens Municipal Farm, Concord, Ontario; that she was going to visit her sister, Mrs. Charles Woodman, who resided at Lake Street, Box 69, Angola, New York; and that she was intending on visiting for 6 months. She was described as 5 foot 5 inches; fair complexion; brown eyes and brown hair.

On June 18, 1927, at Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Ena Mary Atkins, 20, and William Harold Mainland, 28 (born June 17, 1899, in Cherrywood, Ontario, Canada, to David Alexander Mainland and Janet Dixon).

William Harold Mainland died March 29, 1979, at Peterbourgh, Ontario, Canada. Ena Mary Atkins Mainland died June 2, 2002, at the age of 96, in Belleville, Ontario, Canada.
