In 1901, Arthur Ayre, 4 years of age, was residing at 24 Londesborough Road, Stoke Newington, London, England. Other family members included: Elsie Ayre, 9; Frederick Ayre, 45, baker / bread maker; Frederick Ayre, 10; Maud Ayre, 7; and Myria Ayre, 40. He had distingushing features of a scar on the polmar region of his left thumb; a mole on his back one inch from his spine on right side; a round scar on inner side of right knee; a mole on the right inguinal region; and a mole on the left inguinal region.

On June 20, 1920, at London, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Arthur Wilbur Ayre, 23, finisher, born in England, son of Frederick Ayre and Annie Marie McLellan; and Annie Laura Reid, 20, born in England, daughter of Henry Thomas Reid and Lucy Braham.
