In 1910, Maud Ayre, 15 (along with her sister, Elsie Ayre, 17) arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, with a group of 395 children en route to Toronto and Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. (Their brother, Arthur Ayre, had previously arrived in 1909 on the Dominion.)

She was described as 5 foot 3-1/2 inches in height; fair complexion; brown eyes; brown hair. She had immigrated from London, England, through Halifax, on March 18, 1910, on the Tunisian.
