In 1908, Maggie Birchall, 10 (along with sisters, Mary Birchall, 9; Ann Birchall, 8; and Sarah Birchall, 7) arrived at Quebec, Canada, with a group of 76 Scottish children from Quarriers en route to Brockville, Ontario, Canada.
