In 1886, A Carloss, 16 (along with brother R Carloss, 14), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 9 boys from Barton Regis Union, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England, accompanied by Mr. Bird, and en route to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Went to Mr. Seovill to be near his brother ... ; says Mrs. Northup did not treat him well another reason. His present home a very good one, he told me he was well pleased. He gets $2.50 per month with a promise of increase."
