In 1886, A Carloss, 16 (along with brother R Carloss, 14), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 9 boys from Barton Regis Union, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England, accompanied by Mr. Bird, and en route to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

He gets $2.50 per month with a promise of increase."
