NotesEdwin Chamberlain (denoted as "E. Chamberlain" on the ship's manifest), his twin sister Emily (also denoted as "E. Chamberlain"), and their younger brother, Frederick Chamberlain, arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, with a group of 102 children from England to Mr. Middlemore's home in Halifax.

On September 28, 1914, Edwin Chamberlain enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he was born in Birmingham, England; that his next of kin was his sister, Mrs. John Chestnut, Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada; that his birthdate was May 16, 1892; that he was a woodsman; and that he was single. He was described as 5 foot 7 inches in height; medium complexion; blue eyes; and dark brown hair. He was Presbyterian by faith. He had a scar on his left thigh.

Edwin and his brother, Frederick, served in England and Europe during World War I.

Edwin first married Geneive Jessie Dallinger in either December, 1918, or January, 1919. She was the daughter of Charles J. and Edith Dallinger. About 1921, Edwin married again to Mary Elizabeth Challis who was born December 5, 1901, in Reading & Wokingham, Berkshire, England. Mary Elizabeth was the daughter of Lavinia Ann Dallinger (born March 1877, married 1901--she may have been the half-sister of Edwin's first wife, Geneive Jessie Dallinger) and William John CHALLIS, Sr.

Edwin & Mary returned to Canada in 1922.
