In 1901, Elsie E. Cresser, 3 years of age, was shown residing at No. 7, Dryden Place, Parliment Street, Deritend, Aston, Warwickshire, England. Other family members included: Ethel M. In 1906, Elsie Cresser, 7 (along with sister, Ethel Cresser, 9) arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, with a group of 159 children from Middlemore Homes, Birmingham, England.

On July 12, 1924, at North Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, a marriage was registered between Elsie Elizabeth Cresser, 23, born in England to Frederick Cresser and Mary Horton; and William James Roberts, 26, fisherman, born in Ingonish, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, to Josiah Roberts and Annie MacNeil.
