On 25 July 1917, Jean Durward, 25, born Newcastle upon Tyne, England, daughter of William Durward and Martha Wilson, married George Albert Adkins in Hamilton, Wentworth, Ontario

On 23 April 1918, her husband George Albert Adkins was called up into the Army, he had registered under the 1917 draft on October 19 1917. He stated he was a chauffer and was born in Banbury, England on May 23 1892.

George Adkins came to Canada on May 18 1912 with his parents and siblings, to Hamilton, Ontario
