A brother, Herbert, born in 1895, stayed at the Barnardos Babies Castle and was not sent to Canada. He married and had a family. There are stories about brother, James, which indicate he grew to adulthood and immigrated to Canada in 1902. He returned to Wales to visit his father.

A death registration was found for Henrietta Gatehouse: Date: Jul-Aug-Sep 1895; Age: 26; District: Newport; County: Monmouthshire; Volume: 11a; Page: 95

In 1898 James remarried Mary Louisa Alford.

In 1900, Mary Gatehouse, 9, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 150 Barnardo children en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. [EDITORS NOTE: Her sister, Henrietta, arrived at the same time.]

Edith Gatehouse was placed with George and Fernia Mullett, in Ontario, Canada.
