Age 12, good home, employed at odd work about the house and barns, very healthy, attends Roman Catholic Church, not school,
character-a good, reliable boy, but requires to be checked. Terms-Board and Clothes. Halliday is inclined to be sulky, but minds his master, who says he makes allowances for him. He has made good progress since coming here, and is a bright lad to learn. The lad is happy and contented and has no complaints

Age 14, I find this boy discontented with his situation-he finds the work too hard. His employment consists of general farm labour, for which he receives his board and clothing. In my opinion his prospect for wages here are poor. He would like another situation. His employer does not seem to take kindly to him. Although he is now in his fourteenth year, he states that he is frequently punished. He should be found another situation.
