In 1892, Edith Kelsey, 7, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 60 girls accompanied by Maria Rye en route to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. (Sister Florence Kelsey, 7, arrived in 1894 on the Mongolian; and brother Alfred Kelsey arrived in 1892; and Albert Kelsey arrived in 1893.)
In Ploughshares and Prairie Trails, Dilke and District, a book about Dilke, Saskatchewan, Canada the following was found:
"Edith Kelsey was born in Margate, England. She came to Canada as an orphan at the age of seven years. She lived as a young girl at New Market, Ontario, then went west to Wolsely and Summerberry, Saskatchewan. Her brothers Albert and Charles, and a sister homesteaded in the Kedleston district on the Jack Johnson farm: G.C. Daintree's were near-by neighbours.
Miss Kelsey stayed in the Kedleston district until she married Walter Clark."
Edith Kelsey married Walter Clark on September 1, 1909. The couple homesteaded in the Dilke area.
At least 3 children were born of this marriage: James W. Clark, born about 1911 in Saskatchewan; Florence Louise Clark, born September 20, 1911, at Bethune, Saskatchewan, Canada, died July 2, 1995, at Hampton, Ontario, Canada; and Edith M. Clark, born about 1913 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Edith Ellen May [Mercy] Kelsey Clark died on April 4, 1959, at Wolsey, Saskatchewan, Canada. Walter Clark died on January 5, 1968, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
