with John Wallace, farmer, P.O Brays Crossing, Russell, Ontario

age 16, fair home, employed at general farm work, health good, attends church regularly, does not go to school, character good, quick tempered and very sensitive. Terms-Board and Clothes. Kennedy is satisfied with his place and says that they treat him well. Both Mr Wallace, Snr, and Mrs Wallace expressed themselves as being satisfied with the boy. John Wallace is a bachelor and his mother and father keep house for him. He was absent from home at the time of my inspection

with John Wallace, farmer, Bray's Corners, Russell, Ontario

Novemeber 26 1900

About 17 years of age, home fair, very plain farm home employed at ordinary farm labour, very robust health, attends Roman Catholic Church, character-good, terms-Board and Clothing. The boy expresses himself at being well pleased with his situation and is contented. This is his third year in this place, and in my opinion his services ought to be worth wages by this time. His advantages are, I should judge, limited. His employer is pleased with him and states that Kennedy is making good progress

with John Wallace, Brays Crossing, Russell, Ontario

December 29 1902

Age 17, Upon calling here I found that Kennedy had hired out and gone to the shanties for the winter, where he will earn good wages, his prospects for such with Mr Wallace were not very bright. He is a muscular youth and well suited for work in the lumber camps
