NotesIn 1887, Mary Ann Kent, 7 (along with sister Lousia Kent, 11 and brother John William Kent, 9), arrived in Canada in a group of 28 Middlemore children en route to the Guthrie Home, London, Ontario, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Report of Mr. John A. Donaldson, Government Immigration Agent at Toronto.

Mary Ann Kent, aged 7. From Bradfield Union. Placed with J. Jackson, Lot. 12, Con. 4, Tp. London, Ontario. ? Strong and healthy; a good child; not adopted; taken on trial only; not schooled yet; will be in summer; too young to go in winter; used as one of the Mr. Smyth's family; a good home; child happy and content. "
