Notes John Robert Kingsman born 25th August 1910 sailed on the ?S. S. Montrose? on June 30th 1922 which arrived in Quebec, Canada on July 4th 1922. He was also from a MacPherson Home in London and accompanied on the journey by Mrs. Merry from Hackney Union when he was 12 years old. He was placed in a Marchant Home in Belleville, Hastings, Canada, with Mr. George McMaster in Harold, Rawdon, 7-6 Hastings.
John's parents, William Kingsman & Elizabeth nee Hall had died in 1917 and 1916 respectively. His two brothers, John and Henry were also British Home Children. His eldest brother, William, was 15 when their father died and did not go into a Macpherson home. He stayed in England and had a family there. His young sister, Hariett, was taken in by their mother's sister and also remained in England and had a family.
