NotesIn 1884, Robert Langfood, 10 (along with brother, James Langfood, 12), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 65 children from the Catholic Protective Society.

"Sixteenth Annual Report of the Local Government Board, 1886-87; Copy of Reports of Inspection of Children sent out to Canada, as of February 12, 1887.

Report of Mr. John Smith, Government Immigration Agent at Hamilton, Ontario.

Robert Longford, aged 10, from parish of Liverpool, placed with Gordon Bisnett. Should be James; went to Thomas Niban, contractor, St. Catherine's, a very desirable home, but the boy was thoroughly bad, being deceitful, untruthful, bad tempered, stubborn, filthy and dirty in bed; he remained from May till January, and then cleared out for Toronto; whilst at Nihan's he was sent to church."
