In 1907, May Victoria Lyne, 10, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 243 Barnardo children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. (Brother, William Burdett Lyne, 11, arrived previously in 1904 on the Southwark with a group of Barnardo children.)

In 1911, May Lyon, 14, is shown as a domestic to William and Clara Ludens of Gainsboro, Lincoln, Ontario, Canada. Her date of birth is shown as June 1897 and her immigration year as 1910.

In November 1915, May was named as the next of kin of her brother William Burdett Lyne when he enlisted in the Canadian Army, her residence was given as Hagersville, Ontario

Her brother William married Lilian Isabel Schenck on Nov 11 1918 in St Colomba, Haggerston, London, he gave his occupation as a Private 4th Canadian Batt, based at 16th Canadian General Hospital, Orpington, his father was Jack Burdett Lyne, Boilermaker
