William married Lilian Isabel Schenck on Nov 11 1918 in St Colomba, Haggerston, London, he gave his occupation as a Private 4th Canadian Batt, based at 16th Canadian General Hospital, Orpington, his father was Jack Burdett Lyne, Boilermaker

On 10 Feb 1919, Private William Lyne arrived back in Canada on a Military Ship, he gave his residence as Vancouver, he was in a list of medically unfit 'to be discharged in Canada', and that he had a wife as a dependent.

On 20 May 1919, Lilian Isabel Lyne, 22, arrived in Canada, she was going to her husband at Simcoe Hospital
