NotesRose was admitted to Barnardo Homes in Oct 1898, at the age of three years. Her sister, Catherine Mary was admitted three months later. The girls were admitted to the home by their mother, Mary Ann Neal (nee Butler) after the death of their father, Herbert Henry Neal. Both girls migrated to Canada together in 1905 and were placed in separate homes. In 1917, Rose married and later (around 1920) immigrated to the US. Unfortunately, Rose did not live a long life, dying in 1931. She was survived by her spouse and four children.

I do not know a lot about Rose. My father, her nephew, was not aware until recently that his mother (Catherine) had a sister. I have been in touch with a couple of Rose's descendents but they know very little about her.
