In 1884, Beatrice Sink, 7 (along with sisters, Ada Sink, 5; and Ruth Sink, 10), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of Middlemore children en route to various destinations.

Beatrice Sink, aged 9, from Guildford Union, placed with James M. Burton, London, Ontario. Adopted by Mrs. Burton. They say she is 10 in 1886; would like to know her birth day if possible; goes to school regularly, taught music, &c.; goes to Church of England and Sunday school regularly; has a good home and is contented and happy ; very healthy. Mrs. B. is well pleased with her and intends bringing her up as her own child."
