NotesIn 1924, George Weddle Sloan, 17, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of Barnardo children en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

From the Barnardo Guild Messenger Summer of 2002

George Sloan died on February 10 2002 aged 95 years. He was a Home Child, sent to Canada in June 1924. Before then, he was at Goldings from 1922 to 1923.

His immigration record states that his nearest living relative is his half brother Harry Sloan living in Gateshead, England. He was the son of George Sloan and his wife Mary Weddle. Mary died in 1911 and George in 1915.
