Attestation papers were signed 7 Feb 1916 in Parkhill, Ontario. Alfred Joseph Tracey was born 16 Aug 1897 in Mitcham, Surrey, England. His Next of Kin was his mother, Mrs. Mary Martin. He was a Farmer by trade in Parkhill, Ontario. 5'7 1/2" in height, with grey eyes and dark brown hair. His religion was listed as Church of England.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers states Alfred was previously reported missing, and for official purposes was presumed dead on or by 14 Aug 1917, two days before his 20th birthday. Alfred's final resting place is unknown, his name is listed on the Vimy Memorial in Vimy, Nord Pas de Calais, France.
