In 1911, Abraham Vantreen, 17, was shown as a laborer / domestic to John N. and Jennie Wilson of Nassagaweya, Halton, Ontario, Canada. His date of birth is shown as January 1894 and his immigration year as 1906. (His sister, Margaret Vantreen, 15, is also shown at this household as a domestic. She immigrated in 1911.)
On November 1, 1915, Abraham W. Vantreen, 21, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he was born in Dublin, Ireland; that his next of kin was his father, John Vantree, who resided in Campbellville, Ontario; that his date of birth was January 23, 1894; that he was a farmer; that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 7 inches in height; medium complexion; blue eyes; dark brown hair. He was a member of the Methodist faith. He had the letters "R.V." tattooed on right forearm.
On September 17, 1921, at Galt, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Abraham William Vantreen, 27, laborer, born in Ireland to John Vantreen and Rose Hudson; and Bella Paisley, 24, born in Scotland to Robert Paisley and Sarah Johnson.
Abraham Vantreen was the informant on his father, John Thomas Vantreen's, death certificate on July 24, 1925. John Thomas Vantreen died of pyelonephritis (an ascending urinary tract infection that has reached the pyelum (pelvis) of the kidney) and myocardial disease.
