Notes In 1887, Mary Whapshot, 11 (along with sister, Caroline Whapshott, 14), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 18 children from Croydon Union Workhouse accompanied by Rev. R. F. Winter and en route to various places.

On October 30, 1902, at St. Patricks, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, a marriage was solemnized in the Catholic faith and registered between Mary Jane Whapshott, protestant, daughter of George and Emily Whapshott (both deceased); and George Joseph Woods, catholic, son of George Woods and Ann Jane Harvey.
