NotesIn 1891, Lily Gertrude Wilkins, 4, inmate, in Bristol City Workhouse, Stapleton, Gloucestershire

Sent by Barton Regis Union,

with Daniel Campbell, farmer, St George, New Brunswick. Inspection undertaken on 15 Feb 1900

Age 15, good home, employed at housework, good health, does not attend church or school, character good, she is truthful and obedient. Terms-Board, Lodging and Clothing. This girl has shifted considerably. At her place she was given a good character, and from what I learned from her, I think that the changes she has made have been to her personal advantage. Mrs Campbell considers her a good girl

Lily Wilkins was first placed with Hugh Goss, farmer, Bonny River P.O, leaving here she went to Mrs Jane McVeiters where she remained from October 1899 to January 1900. She left here, she says because Mrs McVeiters said she had no work for her. Mrs McVeiters says she found her to be a girl of good character, but inclined to be bad tempered.

In 1901, Samuel Bell, 36, wife Alice, 35, and child Mable, 3, Ernest, 11 months, and Lillian Wilkins, 13, servant girl, in St Patrick, Charlotte, NB

August 22 1902, with Osborne Mitchell, Bocabec, Charlotte, NB

Age 15, Lily Wilkins has a good home and situation. She finds her work work agreeable and is considerately treated, a nice looking girl. She attends Union Church services. The Mitchells are a well known and respected family and appear to be much interested in this girl. She does her work well, but requires to be kept under a certain amount of restraint. Mrs Mitchell describes her as a bright clever girl.
