NotesEllen was placed at Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra, Western Australia. She was one of a party of 15 boys and 14 girls who went to Australia under the Fairbridge Farm scheme by the liner Strathnaver. 11 of them disembarked at Fremantle to go to the farm school at Pinjarra, with the remainder travelling on to Melbourne and Sydney (Source: NLA Trove Newspaper).

She arrived with her brother, Alexander (b. 1925). Her husband William (Bill) was also a Fairbridge child, arriving aboard Otranto in 1935; he died in Dec 1982, aged 60.
