Wife Emily noted on 1939 Register with daughter Edith and her husband Francis J Chesterfield at 377 Beckton Road, West Ham. Further down the road at 393 Beckton Road is son Charles J Foss, a butcher manager, with his wife Ethel and children Leonard, Clifford and Derek.
