WW1 Interned at Knockaloe camp (13246). Entered camp 29 July 1915 from Frimley. Admitted to Knockaloe Camp 3 hospital where he died , inquest. Report in Peel City Guardian 26 Aug 1916 - Arrested 16 May 1915 at 41 Martin Street, 34 years in England, came from Heldt. Leonhardt Barthelmas, witness at inquest, said he had known deceased 32 years 'he worked for me latterly but previously had shop of his own'. Cause of death cerebral softening produced by embolism. Wife Barbara came over to identify Friedrich. Also information kindly supplied by Mrs Frances Coakley.
Buried at Kirk Patrick Holy Trinity Churchyard, Patrick, IOM. In 1962 remains were exhumed and reinterred in the Cannock Chase German Military Cemetery, Plot 14, Row 12, Grave 374 (Source - Findagrave)
