On Sept 24, 1910 Martin was admitted to the Wakefield Assylun where he later died June 19, 1917. His small estate went to his widow Maria. In 1911 Maria and their surviving children continue to live at 54 Wakefield Road, Normanton, however her brother-in-law Joseph BATTY (married to her sister Margaret) is now head of the household and assumed to be running the pork butcher business.
