Notes In 1871, William McCormick, 17, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 22 children accompanied by the Rev. Mr. Herring (of the Society for the Propogation of Christian Knowledge, a collection of Church of England ministers who offered their services to traveling parties).
William McCormick became a Christian, raised his children in a Christian home and filled in as speaker at evangelical meetings. He farmed, worked in a sawmill and was Britainville, Manitoulin Island, Canada's only postmaster, from 1892 to 1936. William was one of Island?s pioneers.
William McCormick is buried in Long Bay Cemetery, Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada.
