In 1920, Gordon Bennett, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 149 Middlemore children en route to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Gordon traveled with his sisters Mary Irene and Mabel Bennett. They had three other siblings Baden Powell Bennett, Harry Bennett, and Donald Stewart Bennett. Donald traveled to Canada from Middlmore Home in 1924.

In 1921, Gordon Bennett, 12, was found lodging in the home of Albert and Sarah Finniss in Evandale, Greenwich, Royal, New Brunswick.
