[EDITORS NOTE: Lillian and William Henry Smith were children from Elizabeth Stych's previous marriage.]

A death registration was found for Thomas Stych: Estimated Birth Year: abt 1863; Year of Registration: 1901; Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar; Age at Death: 38; District: Birmingham (1837-1924); County: Warwickshire; Volume: 6d; Page: 23.

In 1901, Louisa Styche, 10 years of age, was residing at 48 Barker Street, Lady Wood, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. Other family members included: Elizabeth Styche, 43, widow, living on own means; George Styche, 14; Harry Styche, 4 months; John A. Styche, 8; James B. Styche, 6; and Robert W. Styche, 5. In 1902, Louisa Styche, 11 (along with siblings James Styche, 8, and John Styche, 9) arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, with a group of 117 children en route to the Middlemore Home in Halifax. (Brother Harry Styche arrived in 1911 on the Carthaginian with Middlemore, and brother Robert Styche arrived in 1903 on the Siberian with Middlemore.)
