Francis Ambrose Daw, Sr., died at Childs Hill, Hendon, Middlesex, England, on March 17, 1902. Susan Tew Daw died at Childs Hill, Hendon, Middlesex, England, on January 29, 1903.

In 1906, Alfred Daw, 9 (along with siblings Henry [Harry Oliver] Daw, 7, and Francis Ambrose Daw, 10) arrived at Portland, Maine, USA, with a group of 188 children en route to Toronto, Canada.

On December 15, 1915, Alfred Daw enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces (Service Number: 797016; Force: Army; Unit: Canadian Motor Machine Gun Brigade; Division: 1st). He declared that he was residing in Forestville, Ontario, Canada; that he was born in London, England; that his next of kin was his brother, Henry Daw, who was residing in Inkerman, Ontario, Canada; that his date of birth was November 21, 1896; that he was a farmer's laborer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 5 inches in height; dark complexion; brown eyes; black hair. He was a member of the Methodist faith.

Private Alfred Daw died on November 10, 1917, in France. He is buried at Belgium in PASSCHENDALE NEW BRITISH CEMETERY, Belgium (Grave Reference: VII. B. 28.)
