NotesIn 1887, John Cooke, 13, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 73 children from the Canadian Catholic Emigration Committee, Archbishops House, Westminster, London, England, accompanied by Rev. Thomas Seddon and en route to Ottawa and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Report of Mr. W. J. Wills, Government Immigration Agent at Ottawa.

John Cooke, aged 14. From parish of St. George-in-the-East. Placed with John Mahoney, Lot 25, Con. 2, Panmure P.O., Co. Lanark, Ontario.?A very good boy, well clothed and well placed, is to attend school during the winter."
