NotesParents: John Robert Balfour Adamson and Margaret Davidson Daniel, married July 14, 1891, at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

On January 22, 1903, Margaret Davidson Daniel Adamson died at 119 Henderson Street, Kinning Park, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, of Phthisis Pulmonalis.

In 1909, Charles Adamson, 11, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 79 Quarrier children en route to Brockville, Ontario, Canada.

On October 24, 1916, his father, John Robert Balfour Adamson died in the Combination Poorhouse, Thornton, Markinch, Fifeshire, Scotland, at the age of 50 of Cirrhosis of Liver, Ascites, and Heart Failure.

On September 29, 1915, at Barriefield, Ontario, Canada, Charles Daniels Adamson, 18, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he was born in Glasgow, Scotland; that his next of kin was his brother, James Adamson, who resided in Stayner, Ontario, Canada; that his date of birth was November 9, 1897; that he was a farm labourer; and that he was single. He was described as 5 foot 2 inches in height; fair complexion; blue eyes; light hair. He was a member of the Wesleyan faith. [EDITORS NOTE: There is a large stamp showing DISCHARGED; a large H in a circle; and a handwritten note "Carded 19-7-16."]

On February 8, 1919, at Barrie, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Charles Daniel Adamson, 21, born in Scotland to James Balfour Adamson and Christina Daniels; and Doris May Robinson, 19, born in England to Thomas Robinson and Katherine Tompkins.
