NotesHorace was placed at Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra, Western Australia. He was one of a party of 22 orphaned boys aged under 12 sent to Australia under the auspices of the Child Emigration Society, organised by Rhodes scholars at Oxford (Source: NLA Trove Newspapers).

He died in 1954 aged 49, and is buried at Karrakatta Cemetery (Baptist CA537) with wife Florence Madeline, who died 24 May 1962, aged 56.
