NotesStanley was born may 1882 Lambeth surrey England. he was signed over to barnardos with his 2 brothers[james henry and Sydney john]in 1891 at Stepney.stanley returned to England in 1897 and joined the british army for 12 years. he then went back to Toronto and joined the CEF in 1914.
he was sent to france. in 1918 he was in Plymouth devon England where he married Lily Maud Richardson. they returned to Toronto. they had a baby girl in 1921 that died in 1922.their address
was 21 mountalan avenue toronto for many years.stanley worked for CPR in Toronto for nearly 40 years. Stanley died in Toronto in august 1970 and his wife died there in march 1972.
it is not known if Stanley ever met up with either of his 2 older brothers.
