In 1887, William Parle, 9, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 129 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

William Parle, aged 9. From Birkenhead Union. Placed with M. Picket, Lot 19, S. Range, Howe Island, D'Arcy P.O.?Quiet, healthy, good boy, but continually fretting for his mother, sister, and brothers. In good home and pleased with his place and treatment, fairly educated."

The Parle children's mother, Mary Parle, arrived in Canada prior to 1889.

On September 21, 1889, at St. Pauls Roman Catholic Church, Kingston, Frontenac, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Mary Parle, 38, widow, born in Ireland to Patrick Taylor and Margaret Kearney; and Morrise McCarthy, 41, widower, laborer, born in Ireland to Bath Alen McCarthy and Mary Murray.

His mother, Mary Parle died at the age of 54 on January 17, 1906, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

About 1910, the Parle childrens father, John Parle, father arrived in Canada. He died on May 20, 1920.

On November 16, 1915, at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, William Parle, 38, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he was born in Liverpool, England; that his date of birth was October 16, 1877; that his next of kin was his father, John Parle, who resided at Bagot Street, Kingston, Ontario, Canada; that he was a steamfitter; that he was not married; and that he had previously served for 7 years in the 14 P.W.O.R. Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He was described as 5 foot 5 inches in height; fair complexion; brown eyes; brown hair; 4 V.S.L. arm; right forearm tat "clasped hands" inscription "forget-me-not".

William Daniel Parle died at the age of 77 on April 10, 1953, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. (Registration: 1953-09-004315)
