NotesPeter was put into a children's home in 1906 after his father died. He was at the Stony Stratford home in Milton Keynes, and we know he spent some time at the Ramsgate home - possibly for health reasons. In relation to this, we also think he lost the two middle fingers of his right hand whilst he was at the orphanage, and that this nearly prevented his emigration.

In Canada, he spent 11 months with a Mr Gilbert Christopherson in Bronte, Ontario. Then 11 months with a Mr A. E. Tindall (or Tyndall), again in Bronte, Ontario. Then a further year with Mr Tindall. And finally a year with a Mr J. Duck in Cedar Valley. By this time he 19, and I can't find any further record of him.
