Sophia was admitted to Barnardo's Home on April 24, 1891.

In 1892, Sophia R. Willis, 14 (along with sister, Mabel J. Willis, 14), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 127 Barnardo girls en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

On January 15, 1900, Sophia Rebecca Willis married Paul Alore (also called Allore). They had at least 5 children: May Eliza Alore, born December 6, 1900; George Arthur Alore, born September 7, 1902; John Seymore Alore, born August 23, 1907; Ruby Sophia Alore, born January 29, 1909 (died December, 2002); and Lillian Pearl Alore.
